Dear Recruiter,

My name is Jason Lee Jones and I have over nine years of experience in designing, creating, managing web projects and applications. I have a strong understanding of how UI design affects usage, focusing on aesthetic appeal, cross-browser compatibility, consistent navigation, and quick download time. My extensive experience in front-end development includes logo design and image branding, site flow and conceptual development (UI, graphics and content), determination of appropriate web technologies for static vs. dynamic site building, user interface design including ADA guidelines, 2D and 3D graphic design and production, clean W3C standard HTML coding, web animation, and back-end project coordination with professional programmers and other web specialists.

I have designed, managed and co-developed powerful web-based applications in LINUX, UNIX and Windows environments. These applications have utilized one or more of the following technologies: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML, SSI, Perl, PHP, ASP, SQL, mySQL, Java and C++.

I collaborate well with others in a team environment and can maintain "the big picture" while being attentive to detail. I have the ability to interact and communicate efficiently with technical professionals while blending art with technology. My unique combination of education and experience sets my work apart from typical solutions. I enjoy brainstorming, problem solving, logo design, image branding, and transforming creative ideas and concepts into reality. I have the ability to quickly learn new methods and software applications.

I have been utilized effectively and given a tremendous array of responsibilities. All of these experiences combined have helped make me a top candidate for almost any position. I am scalable because there are many areas I can fit and excel in. I am an excellent individual with a wide ranging background and a capacity for challenges. I do not fold under pressure and I always go beyond what is required of me. I believe that in order for me to grow, my employer has to grow, so I will do all I can to ensure long term stability and worth.

With warm regards, I sincerely remain,

Respectfully,

What I Do

I am a New Media and eBusiness Innovator who delivers high-value, explicit business outcomes for my employers and clients. Creative strategy and experience-based design. Deep technology expertise and broad implementation skills. A professional, end-user approach. I bring all these together to rapidly and reliably deliver the solutions required at the intersection of web technology and a business need. The solutions I provide include:

How I Work

Micro-Design Sessions
The idea behind Micro-Design Sessions is simple: Get the right people in a room with the right kind of facilitation and you can do in days or weeks what might usually take months or years. Through Micro-Design Sessions, I help employers and clients drive critical decisions, develop a project roadmap and shared vision, and define measurable business outcomes quickly and collaboratively.

Fast Solution Delivery
I am able to create high-quality solutions quickly at an affordable price because of my broad skill-set. With proven abilities in such a wide range of capacities — like Web Design, Project Management & Creative Strategy — I'm able to discipline myself so I can deliver rapid solution development and implementation. My ability allows me to achieve more rapid technical design and faster speed-to-market — without compromising quality.

Fixed-Price Approach
I want my employers and clients to receive the highest possible business value through their investment in me. For contract assignments, I do that by delivering what I say I will, when I say I will, at the price agreed upon when the contract was offered. I complete the majority of my contract assignments on a fixed-price basis — and have done so since I started freelancing.

Rapid, Reliable, Quality-Driven Approach
I learn, cultivate and implement a vast range of skills on almost every project. I have the breadth and depth of expertise necessary to understand the business opportunities and challenges, the technical demands, and user requirements each project presents. While the nature and scope of my projects have varied, my fundamental approach hasn't:

Why Me?

Any one of the following could set me apart, but what makes me different from other applicants and co-workers is how all these traits help to build and enhance every project.

A total focus on delivering high-value, explicit business outcomes
With the way I build a project, everything I do is designed to produce the right solutions and the right results for my employers and clients. I'm pretty relentless about it. For the last few years, I've helped many companies discover new opportunities and realize true value from their technology investments.

A way of working where speed and reliability are the norm
By getting right to work on the right work, I conceive, collaborate and implement solutions while they still matter. Employing when applicable, collaborative rapid-development micro-design sessions, I can quickly build a consensus and generate momentum from the start. A broad skill-set allows me to develop high-quality solutions at lower costs to you. This, along with my excellent approach, gives me the ability to increase delivery speed and shorten time-to-market for my employers and clients.

An uncommon understanding of advanced technologies
My approach to advanced technology is not just about gazing into the future — it's about helping my employers and clients take the actions necessary for gaining the newest competitive advantages while merging them with the still-valuable components of legacy systems. I create value by knowing what it actually takes to make the promises of advanced technologies real through consistently learning and advancing my capacities so that I can gain a genuine understanding of these technologies.

A deep understanding of human experience
I understand the human elements required to make customer and employee experiences valuable in every sense of the word. By grounding technology solutions and business strategies in a deep understanding of human behaviors, knowledge, motivations, and attitudes, my work is not only useful and usable but also compelling. Through my creative strategies, social science research, and experience design capabilities, I help my employers and clients build strong audience relationships — relationships that work to create value by serving people's real needs.

A bias toward fixed-price engagements
From the beginning I've set my sights on delivering what I say I will for a price I'm committed to. And I've honed that fixed-price approach for as long as I've been in this industry. I'm willing to bet my income on successful delivery because I have historically delivered on that bet. While the majority of other freelance designers and consults base their approach on time-and-materials, I provide the majority of my work on a fixed-price basis. This means I have no incentive to let schedules slide — and every incentive to reveal total costs.

A baseball analogy
Baseball has always been my favorite sport and I've played the game ever since I was a boy. I have played every positions in the game, and my career title is "utility player". I learned as much as I could about every position so I could play that position effectively. I became a great asset to my teams because I could fill any need. I have employed the utility player approach to my professional career. I have made attempts to learn as much as I can so I can effectively take on any role that my employers or clients need filled. So, when I am brought aboard, I am availible to do many more duties than those of the job description. In baseball and in my profession, I am a utility player on the team.
